Global PM Ranking #51 | Bret Taylor: Rewrote Google Maps in One Weekend, Invented the 'Like' Button, and Became Silicon Valley's Ultimate Fixer
Global Product Manager Ranking #51 (86 OVR): Bret Taylor. Before 2005, panning an online map meant clicking an arrow and waiting 5 seconds for a full page reload. At 25, Taylor rewrote Google Maps in a single weekend using AJAX slippy tiles, launching the modern Web 2.0 era. He then invented the 'Like' button at FriendFeed, served as Facebook CTO and Salesforce Co-CEO, stabilized OpenAI as Board Chair, and co-founded AI agent unicorn Sierra.
